Green | Special Projects

Building Green and other special projects requires an integrated design approach for success. MACNAK Construction is able to work with all stakeholders of a project — owner, architect, engineer, facilities manager, etc. — in order to achieve success. We focus on making sure the building form and function meet the needs of the owner while meeting all goals set out for the project. MACNAK Construction has the proven ability to approach projects with a new viewpoint. We are able to accomplish goals where others have failed.

Peace Arch Vegetative Green Roof | Blaine, Washington

A complex Design-Build project that required removal, re-design, and reinstallation of a green roof system that had previously experienced significant design/construction failure. MACNAK Construction was able to reach each of the environmental goals presented by our Client: slow and attenuate rainwater runoff to help maintain the natural hydrological cycle of the site, a habitat for beneficial insects and animals, reduce urban heat island effect, reduce sound reflection and transmission, low maintenance extensive green roof landscaping, and establishment of a healthy, stable green roof system.

What was cool? MACNAK Construction was able to develop a solution and a finished product when previous attempts had failed.

Solar Pool Upgrade | NAS Fallon, Nevada

MACNAK Construction installed solar panels, thermal sensors, 400' of 6" PVC/CPVC, 6" manual shutoff valves, a solar water pump, and tied into the existing mechanical. A state of the art computer control station was built to provide control and operations of the facility. The site location has a significant amount of sandy soil that makes it unsuitable for supporting any substantial amount of weight over a large surface area. MACNAK Construction developed a solution that would provide the support this project needs.

What was cool? MACNAK Construction worked diligently to facilitate solutions for the mechanical conflicts discovered during construction without schedule delays.

FEMA Bothell SCIF | Bothell, Washington

MACNAK Construction modified a Sensitive Compartmental Information Facility (SCIF) to meet the requirements of DCID 6/9 which will fulfill the requirements for SCIF accreditation.

What was cool? MACNAK Construction was able to develop a solution and a finished product when previous attempts had failed.
